The Vasquez Pride in Health Scholarship was established specifically to give financial assistance to the students with financial concerns and help them continue with their studies. This scholarship program is open to the citizens of the United States who are taking up an advanced medical degree. In order to qualify for the Vasquez Pride in Health Scholarship, the potential candidate is required to be a resident of either Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon or Washington State.
This scholarship program gives priority to the self- identified lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or those who are members of LGBT families or the straight allies who support the LGBT community. The Vasquez Pride in Health Scholarship is awarded by Pride Foundation, and the amount of scholarship award that it extends to its recipients is from$500 to $5,000 which is non- renewable. Although the amount of award varies, the average amount being given to a recipient is about $3,000.
For the Vasquez Pride in Health Scholarship, only one application is required to be submitted for all Pride Foundation Scholarships. Apart from the completed application, this scholarship program asks for other requirements as well such as the contact information for two references, and the applicant’s answer to the 6 essay questions that are found in the application.
