The Thompson Scholarship for Women in Safety was established to offer financial support to the students with financial concerns and are able to meet the criteria needed in order to become eligible to apply for this scholarship program. The Thompson Scholarship for Women in Safety is available for the female students who are taking up a graduate degree in any either safety engineering, safety management, occupational health nursing, occupational medicine, risk management, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, fire safety, environmental safety or other fields that are related to these.
Also part of the qualification for the Thompson Scholarship for Women in Safety must be enrolled or at least planning to enroll at a college or university that is accredited. The candidate who wishes to be considered for this scholarship program must also have a grade point average of no less than 3.5. The scholarship award for this program is provided by the American Society of Safety Engineers, and recipients can expect to receive the amount of $1,000 which is non- renewable.
The Thompson Scholarship for Women in Safety chooses a recipient every year, and apart from the completed application, candidates are required as well to submit other documents such as transcript of records and the applicant’s answers to the questions that are found in the application. Hopeful candidates who are serious about getting considered for the Thompson Scholarship for Women in Safety are required to submit the completed application along with the other needed documents on or before the deadline set by this program.
