The Illinois Nurses Association founded a program called Sonne Scholarship to give financial aid to the students who are enrolled in a nursing program. Sonne Scholarship is made possible through the donation from the estate of Maybelle Sonne, who was a retired nurse.
The monetary award that will be given by Sonne Scholarship is meant to be used for the recipient’s tuition, as well as other fees. Other expenses that will be incurred for the recipient’s education will also be shouldered by this scholarship program.
Like any other scholarship programs, Sonne Scholarship has its own set of requirements as well. One of the requirements for this scholarship grant is that the potential candidate must be a student who is presently enrolled in a state approved nursing program that will lead them to have licensure exams in order to become a full- pledged Registered Nurse.
Sonne Scholarship extends the amount of $1,000 to $1,500 worth of financial support. For the potential applicants who wish to participate in the selection of recipients for this scholarship program may submit their application for scholarship on or before its actual deadline which is set on March 15.
People with the likes of Maybelle Sonne who are very generous to share their resources to those who are in need are certainly great blessings. Because of them, more students who are having financial difficulties are encouraged to continue their education and are inspired to achieve their dreams knowing that there is someone who will make it possible for them to finish their studies.
