The United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) chapters provide scholarship awards to the students who are seeking for a financial aid so they can continue their education and have the chance to fulfill their dreams. Students who wish to get more information about the Scholarship of the United Daughters of the Confederacy may send a letter of request to the program which must also contain the applicant’s name, address, phone number and email address so that a local chapter may be able to contact them and schedule the applicant’s initial interview.
Only the Chapters provide the application for the scholarships. Once a recipient is chosen, the scholarship award which will come in the form of cheque will be made payable to the college or university where the recipient is studying. The award is intended to cover all the expenses that will be incurred for the recipient’s whole academic year.
The Scholarship of the United Daughters of the Confederacy requires its recipients to make a report by making a letter that comes with the student’s transcript of records. The report must be sent to the Second Vice President General on June 15 of the current year if the recipient seeks to be re- awarded for the next semester.
Recipients are requested to comply with the rules set by the Scholarship of the United Daughters of the Confederacy because failure to do so will result to the cancellation of the scholarship. If the student drops out of school for whatever reason, he or she will also lose the scholarship, and the college or university where the recipient is enrolled must return the unused amount to the UDC.
