The Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania’s VFW Jack E. Barger Sr. Scholarship was founded by the VFW or the Department of Pennsylvania Veterans of Foreign Wars. This scholarship program was created in order to commemorate the life of the late Jack E. Barger Sr. who was a department commander at the time of his death.
Part of the requirements for this scholarship grant is that the candidate must be a resident of Pennsylvania who are veterans or active duty military personnel. This program is also open to their sons, daughters or spouses. When a recipient is chosen, he or she is required to be present at the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) conference to receive the scholarship award.

Barger Sr. Scholarship provides the amount of up to $1,000 worth of financial assistance, and the deadline set for the submission of applications for this scholarship program is on or before May 1. Candidates who wish to take advantage of this great opportunity must submit their application on or before its actual deadline.
