The Nursing Education Loan/ Scholarship RN to MSN (NERM) is a forgivable loan program that was created to give financial assistance to the students who are residents of Mississippi, and for the student to qualify for this scholarship program, the candidate must meet all the criteria for eligibility.
One of the requirements for Nursing Education Loan/ Scholarship RN to MSN (NERM) is that the candidate must pursue a master’s degree in nursing at a recognized nursing school also within the state of Mississippi. Another requirement that the applicant needs to fulfill is that he or she must have a Mississippi nursing license.
The Nursing Education Loan/ Scholarship RN to MSN (NERM) is awarded by Mississippi Office of Financial Aid, and the amount of scholarship award that it extends to its recipients is worth $4,000 for each academic year. The amount of scholarship award must not go beyond 3 calendar years or $12,000, and for the candidate to be continuously supported by the program, he or she must be able to maintain a GPA of no less than 3.0 every semester or trimester.
Those who are applying for renewal of scholarship are given the priority. Students who would like to participate in this scholarship program may obtain the application from the website of Mississippi Office of Student Financial Aid. Aside from the completed application, a letter of acceptance from the nursing school is also required to be submitted and a copy of the applicant’s Mississippi driver’s license, among others.
The deadline for submission online is on March 31, and for the submission of documents on April 30 while the submission for the letter of acceptance is on June 30.
