This scholarship program is specifically for the undergraduate students who intends to have a career in nursing, and to be eligible for this scholarship grant, the candidate must agree to work as a Registered Nurse within the state of Ohio to qualify for loan forgiveness.
The Nurse Education Assistance Loan Program (NEALP) for Future Nurses offers the amount of $1,500 which is not automatically renewable, but the recipient may reapply if he or she wishes to take advantage of the award once again. The number of awards provided by this scholarship program differs each year, and depends on a certain number of factors such as the number of applicants as well as the availability of the funding.
Interested applicants may easily obtain the application on the Ohio Board of Regents website, but before the candidate can make his or her application, he or she must first submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Aside from these, the candidate is also required to submit other supporting documents such as two personal references who must be residents of Ohio, but cannot live at the same address.
If the potential candidate is below 18 years old, and he or she has no unfavorable credit, the applicant then needs to have a co- signer who is also an Ohio resident.
