A scholarship program that offers financial aid to the undergraduate students of Ohio who are pursuing a degree in nursing is available to give solution to the monetary concern of these kinds of students.
The program is called Nurse Education Assistance Loan Program (NEALP) for Future Nurses. This scholarship grant requires its recipients to work as a Registered Nurse in the state of Ohio once he or she has graduated from his or her nursing program. The recipient needs to fulfill this obligation so that his or her loan will be repaid.
The Ohio Higher Education grants the award for the Nurse Education Assistance Loan Program (NEALP) for Future Nurses, and the amount that this scholarship program provides is $1,500 every year. Although the award is not automatically renewed, the recipient may opt to apply again for this scholarship award.
Applications for the Nurses Education Assistance Loan Program (NEALP) for Future Nurses are available at the website of the Ohio Board of Regents. Before a student can apply for this scholarship program, he or she is required to first submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This application can be obtained online at www.fafsa.edu.gov or may also be availed at the high school guidance offices or the offices of financial aid in the colleges.
Also part of the requirement for this scholarship program is that he or she must be able to present two character references. If the student is below 18 years old and does not have good credits, he or she needs to have a co- signer.
