The North Carolina Nurse Education Scholarship Loan Program was founded by the 1989 General Assembly. The aim of this scholarship grant is to take action on the concern with regards to the shortage of trained nurses in the state of North Carolina. One of the good features of this scholarship program is that the giving of awards is divided into semesters, such that half of the award is given during the fall semester, and the other half of the award is distributed in the spring semester. This way more students are given the chance to take part in this wonderful opportunity.
The North Carolina Nurse Education Scholarship Loan Program is renewable for a maximum of 3 years, and it requires its recipients as well to work full time as a registered nurse in North Carolina. This scholarship program also obliges service repayment to be done in the period of 7 years from the time of graduation.
If the recipient is able to fulfill 1 year of service, then it automatically cancels 12 months of the received funding assistance from the Nurse Scholar Program. The North Carolina Nurse Education Scholarship Loan Program gives $5,000 worth of financial assistance to its chosen recipient. Part of the requirement of this scholarship program is that the candidate must be able to maintain a grade of 3.0 or higher.
The deadline set for the submission of application for this scholarship grant is on May 1, so those who are interested to apply may do so before its deadline.
