North Carolina Masters Nurse Scholars Program, Graduate Program

A nurse scholar commission that is composed of 11 members is the body that is responsible for choosing the recipients for the North Carolina Masters Nurse Scholars Program, Graduate Program. Like any other scholarship grant, this particular program has its own set of specific requirements as well to make the candidate qualified to make an application.

The North Carolina Masters Nurse Scholars Program, Graduate Program requires its candidates to have an excellent academic standing, and at the same time must possess some leadership qualities. Aside from these, it is also important that the applicant is willing to commit and serve in North Carolina as a full time nurse.

This scholarship program is open to US citizens who are residents of North Carolina, and must be considering to go into master’s level nursing program in any of the involved colleges or universities in the state of North Carolina. The candidate must also have a grade of 3.2 or higher.
The North Carolina Masters Nurse Scholars Program, Graduate Program requires its recipients to work full time in North Carolinaeither as a master’s- prepared nurse or as a teacher in a nurse education program. The agreement is that when the recipient is able to work full time for 12 months, then it cancels the 1 full year of nurse scholar’s program support.

In order to qualify for service cancellation, the recipient of the award is required to have at least 6 consecutive months of full time employment with 1 employer. This scholarship grant gives about $6,000 of financial assistance.
