Norman Craven Scholarship

The Norman Craven Scholarship gives honor to the late Norman Craven and is facilitated by the Shore Medical Center. The requirement for this scholarship program is that the candidate must be considering a career in nursing or allied health. Another requirement is that the applicant must have graduated from either the Ocean City High School or the Mainland Regional High School in the state of New Jersey.

The Norman Craven Scholarship is open to the students of nursing or allied health and who are residents of New Jersey. He or she is also required to maintain a grade of 3.0 or higher. Those who possess the given requirements are qualified to make an application for the Norman Craven Scholarship.

This scholarship program is only one of the many scholarship grants that are made available to those who are in need of financial assistance in order for them to continue with their studies and be encouraged to pursue their dreams and at the same time be motivated to get a degree in nursing or allied health. Because more students are inspired to be in the medical field, the problem then with regards to the shortage of nurses for example may somehow be alleviated.

Some scholarship programs have specific conditions for the recipients as well like needing to fulfill a certain number of hours or years to commit in providing service to health care facilities that has shortage of medical practitioners for example.
