The NM Nursing Loan for Service is a scholarship program that gives financial assistance to the students of nursing who are in need of financial aid so they can complete their education. This scholarship program is open to the residents of New Mexico and who are pursuing a nursing that will lead them to a degree or certification.
As in any other scholarship programs, NM Nursing Loan for Service also has its own set of requirements that the candidate needs to fulfill so they can be considered eligible to make an application. One is that he or she need to be enrolled in a public college also in the state of New Mexico. Second is that he or she must have the intention to practice and serve in New Mexico as well.
NM Nursing Loan for Service is awarded by the New Mexico Higher Education Department and gives an amount of $12,000 that is given every year and which is renewable for up to three years, with the provision that the candidate needs to reapply every year. The monetary award is a forgivable loan. This scholarship program selects 38 recipients every year.
The application for NM Nursing Loan for Service begins on May 15 and ends on July 1, so the potential and interested candidates must take note of these dates so they can be guided accordingly as to when they can start applying for this scholarship grant.
