Nursing students in the state of Pennsylvania can now avail of a scholarship fund that will benefit them during their financial difficulties. The scholarship funds are being given out by the Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania for those enrolled in nursing degrees. These scholarships are being awarded on April of this 2014 and can be spent on reading materials, tuition fees, and other scholastic expenses for the second semester of the school year.
To qualify for the scholarship funds, nursing students must be able to fulfill some requirement. The first is that the student must be currently pursuing a Licensed Practical Nurse course in an acknowledged school in Pennsylvania or must be a Registered Nurse currently taking post graduate nursing course. Second is that the student must be a certified Pennsylvania resident. The student must average at least a ‘B’ grade or the schools’ equivalent grade. The student must not be a past NAP awardee.
Upon the submission of application, the student must submit a copy of the letter of admission to the nursing school.
The guidelines for the process of selection is based on leadership capabilities, scholarly performance, participation in service of the community, commitment in pursuing a career in nursing.
