The National Black Nurses Association (NBNA), Inc. Board of Directors Scholarship is a scholarship program that focuses on the continuing education of nurses so that they are able to learn more skills and techniques. The scholarship fund aims to help fund current Registered Nurses so that they are able to grow. Through this, they can better contribute to the healthcare industry by sharing their talents to the community.
To be eligible, the applicant must be of African American descent and must be currently enrolled at a nursing program whether it is a BSN, Diploma, AD, or LVN/LPN course. Also, the applicant must be of good scholastic and academic standing during the time at which they applied. The aspiring scholar must also be a member of the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA) and must be a member in a local chapter if there is one near their area. Another criterion is that the student must have at least one more year remaining in school. For students who will be accepted into the scholarship award, they shall be given $2,000 to help fund their education. Deadline for the application is on April 15.
