The National Association of Directors of Nursing Administration in Long-Term Care (NADONA/LTC) is giving out scholarships to four students that are of varying levels in education. The scholarship they are giving out is the Stephanie Carroll Memorial Scholarship and is given to nursing students that are currently enrolled or is eligible to enroll at any accredited nursing program. The student must be pursuing either an undergraduate or graduate course. Another requirement of the scholarship is that the students must be members of the NADONA/LTC. Fortunately, if the applicant is not a member, they can still apply for the scholarship as long as they are sponsored by a member.
Scholarships like these are beneficial to the nursing community as a whole since it encourages students from various levels to take up nursing. This will increase the amount of nursing graduates which in turn will increase the number of registered nurses in the future. These types of scholarships help students to finish their degree without worrying too much about their finances. This, in turn, helps them to focus on their studies. This also becomes a great source of motivation and inspiration for the other students. With the existence of scholarships like these, students are more motivated to study since the bar is becoming higher. Furthermore, since the scholarship grant is not exclusive, anyone who is able to get a sponsorship from a member will be able to apply for it and possibly get financial aid. This is great news for students who are really in need of the financial assistance.
