The Morris K. Udall Undergraduate Scholarship is a merit-based scholarship that is funded and established by the Morris K. Udall Scholarship and Excellence in National Environmental Policy Foundation. The foundation awards 80 scholarships as well as 50 honorable mentions to college sophomore and juniors that have showcased outstanding commitment and potential when it comes to pursuing a type of career that is related to the environment.
Aside from this, the foundation also gives rewards to Native American and Alaskan Native sophomores and juniors at the collegiate level that have displayed considerable skill, commitment, and potential un careers relating to tribal policy and health care.
Students who are accepted for the scholarship grant will be given $5,000 to help them with their finances. The grant requires the students to have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. This ensures that the student being given the grant is of high quality and is of good academic rating. Deadline for the scholarship is on the 3rd of March.
It is good to see foundations such as these that offer multiple types of scholarships. In this case, Native Americans and Alaskans will be able to get a scholarship fund if they are aiming for a course related to the health field such as nursing. The scholarship itself has a high benchmark for quality with its high GPA requirements but this only serves to drive home the point that only the most qualified and exceptional students can receive the grant which also makes them the most deserving to receive them.
