The National Black Nurses Association (NBNA), Inc., Mayo Foundations Scholarship is a scholarship program designed to help students in continuing their education. The program itself is limited to applicant who are of African-American descent and are non-Hispanic. Also, they must be currently enrolled or are expected or eligible to enroll for any nursing program such as BSN, AD, Diploma, or LPN/LVN. The program that they are enrolled in can be either full-time or part-time as long as they still have at least one full year remaining when applying to the said scholarship fund.
The scholarship program is perfect for students who want to continue their education and are eligible to apply as long as they meet the above mentioned criteria as well as be of good scholastic standing at the time of application. They must also be a member of the NBNA and of a local chapter if there is one in their area. Deadline for the application must be sent in before April 15th and applicants who are accepted can get $2000 to help with their educational expenses.
This particular scholarship is perfect for black students who are having a hard time when it comes to financing their education. This is also perfect for currently employed LPN/LVN who are trying to further their skills and would like to be a Registered Nurse. This is good not just for prospective applicants but for the entire nursing community as well since more people who are advancing their studies and becoming RNs can impact the whole industry positively.
