The Maryland Tuition Reduction for Non Resident Nursing Students was established for the citizens of the United States who are presently enrolled in a nursing program. In order to be considered eligible for this scholarship program, the candidate must be studying in a public college in the state of Maryland, and that he or she is a resident of Maryland.
The Maryland Tuition Reduction for Non Resident Nursing Students requires its candidates to enroll in at least 6 credit hours per semester. This scholarship grant is awarded by the Maryland Higher Education Commission. The concept of this scholarship program is that tuition is reduced so that non- resident of Maryland pays the tuition that is charged to a resident of Maryland.
Unlike the other scholarship awards, the award for Maryland Tuition Reduction for Non Resident Nursing Students is renewed automatically. If the student is attending a two year institution, then the recipient gets an additional one year scholarship, but if the recipient is in a 4 year institution, then he or she gets an extra three years of scholarship provided that the recipient’s academic standing is excellent and that he or she is continuously enrolled in a nursing program.
Interested applicants may obtain the application for Maryland Tuition Reduction for Non Resident Nursing Students online, but to be eligible to make an application, the candidate must first register an MD CAPS profile, then make a student account.
