The American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Washington has established a scholarship fund that is aimed at aiding nursing students who are experiencing financial difficulties. The name of the scholarship fund is the Marguerite McAlpin memorial Scholarship for Nursing. There are some requirements that the student applicant has to meet. First is that the student applicant must be a certified resident of the state of Washington. Second is that the student applicant has to be a child or a grandchild of a military veteran. Third is that the student applicant must be enrolled or a graduate of any nursing course. Fourth is that the student applicant must be a certified resident of the state of Washington. There is only one scholarship fund given out every year.
Some supporting documents need to be submitted with the application form. These are; scholastic records, recommendation letters, essay statement on the applicants reason for pursuing further studies, statement of financial aid, and a statement off character.
