Scholarship programs are established by donors as one of their ways to help the society through educating future generations to their chosen field and specialization. Of course, they target the deserving individuals with great potential but having difficulties financially. To truly select the deserving recipient, there are strict guidelines to follow and it is the duty of the candidate to obey those rules and demonstrate why he/she deserves that scholarship assistance.
For those who hope to pursue a degree in nursing, apply to Madeline Pickett (Halbert) Cogswell Nursing Scholarship. This program is established byNational Society Daughters of the American Revolution/NSDAR. This foundationregularly awards several scholarships to students who are capable to show dedication as they pursue a degree in nursing as well other diverse disciplines such as law,education and history. The Scholarship Committee of the foundation will thoroughly screen and award the scholarships to qualified and deserving candidates regardless of national origin, sex, religion or race. Every awarded scholarship I multi-year and can be renewed for up to four years and that is in consecutive years while undertaking studies at an accredited university or college in the country.
Part of the requirement in this scholarship program is that the applicant must be a member or NSDAR. If he/she is a descendant of a member or is eligible to become a member, he/she can apply. Candidate must be currently enrolled in the nursing program of the accredited institution on full time bases. Successful candidate will receive $1,000 assistance.
