The Health Professions Education Foundation provides the award for the program called Licensed Vocational Nurse to Associate Degree Nurse Scholarship whose objective is to offer financial support to the residents of California who are either attending or still planning to attend a licensed vocational nursing to associate degree nursing program. The applicant must be enrolled in a college or university within the state of California as well.
The recipients of this scholarship award can expect to receive a maximum of $8,000 that is non- renewable. The number of awards to be given each year depend on the funding available. But before making an application to the Licensed Vocational Nurse to Associate Degree Nurse Scholarship, the applicant needs to first apply to the Associate Degree Nursing Scholarship Program, and if rejected in that program will be the only time that the applicant can apply for this scholarship program.
Applications for the Licensed Vocational Nurse to Associate Degree Nurse Scholarship is required to be submitted within the period of one year from the time of rejection. Aside from the completed application, other supporting documents are required as well such as a transcript that must be sealed in an envelope, two personal statements that has a maximum of two pages, and two letters of recommendation are required to be submitted as well. Another necessary document that needs to be presented is the Student Aid Report which can be obtained after filing a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
