Lander University Geriatric Nursing Scholarships for Senior Students

The Lander University is now offering the Agnes M. Luddy Nursing Scholarship award to those nursing students who have shown higher than the usual performance levels of geriatric and orthopedic rehabilitation nursing care. Successful applicants must fulfill some requirements. The first is that a Grade Point Average of at least 3.0 must be maintained.

Students of the University may apply for the scholarships, work while studying jobs and may ask for financial aid from the Financial Aid Department. Donors and sponsors like supporters of the University, employees and teachers of the school support the Nursing Department of the school by offering scholarships.

Information regarding university offered and state offered scholarships may be acquired from the Financial Aid Office of Lander University. There are scholarships that are available on a yearly basis and may not be renewed.

Thos taking courses in nursing may incur additional costs like uniforms, transportation and travel expenses, testing costs, nursing liability insurances on top of their regular school costs. These are just some of the expenses where nursing students can use their scholarship awards. These scholarships can be applied for at the Nursing Department and also at the Financial Aid Office.

Scholarship awards amounting to about twelve-million U.S. dollars per year have been awarded to students of Lander University. These scholarships are funded by the government, the state government and from donors. The University also offers about four-hundred students to work in the University yearly.

To apply for scholarships in Lander University, nursing students must completely fill-ouit the application forms and submit it, together with an updated transcript of records to the Chairman’s Office of the Department of Nursing on or before the 31st of March of every year.

The scholarships are awarded in the latter part of spring by nursing faculty members depending on the donors’ requirements. These scholarships will be directly reflected on the students’ school costs for the next year.
