The La Verne ‘Bun’ Young Endowment Scholarship was established to give financial aid to both US students as well as foreign students. In order to qualify for this scholarship program, the candidate must either be an undergraduate or a graduate student who is studying in either Southern Oregon University or Rogue Community College.
The hopeful candidate must pursue a degree such as education/ teaching, nursing or any medical field, and that he or she must have a grade point average of no less than 3.0. The La Verne ‘Bun’ Young Endowment Scholarship is awarded by the ESA Foundation, and the amount of scholarship award that it extends to its recipients is worth $1,250 and is non- renewable.
The money is intended to be used for the recipient’s tuition and other fees as well as books, dormitory fees and other academic costs. The award will be made payable directly to the college or university that the recipient has chosen. Only one recipient is selected each year, and the application for the La Verne ‘Bun’ Young Endowment Scholarship can be accessed through Epsilon Sigma Alpha International website.
The application for this scholarship program is required to be completed online via the ESA application system. Apart from the completed application, the candidate needs to submit other documents as well such as transcript of records, SAT/ ACT documentation, two letters of recommendation, and an essay that discusses the applicant’s career plans as well as the reasons why he or she is applying for a scholarship and also why he or she must be chosen.
