The Delaware Community Foundation provides the scholarship award for the program called Jill Biden Scholarship- Biden Breast Health Initiative whose objective is to offer financial support to the senior high school students who are residents of Delaware. In order to qualify for this scholarship program, the candidate must be able to possess the necessary requirements specified by this scholarship program such as being a graduate of a Delaware high school and that he or she must intend to pursue a career in either health care or education.
Among the other qualifications for the Jill Biden Scholarship- Biden Breast Health Initiative is that the candidate is also required to be active in community service and must display a low to moderate income. The amount of scholarship award that this program provides depend on the decision of the DCF Board of Directors. Awards are given each year and are non- renewable.
Students who have the necessary requirements may obtain the application from the Delaware Community Foundation website, and must be completed online through the program’s online application system. The candidate is required to create an account so that he or she can access the application. Other supporting documents are also required such as transcript of records, SAT/ ACT scores and a Student Aid Report that can be obtained after filing the FAFSA. Aside from these, an essay with 300 words must answer the question “why have you chosen a career in health care or education, and why do you feel it is important to encourage others to adopt a healthy lifestyle?”
