The Jackson Family Scholarship was established to provide financial support to the students who are experiencing financial difficulties so they can be allowed to continue their studies and eventually get a degree. In order to be eligible for this scholarship program, the candidate needs to meet certain criteria and one of those requirements is that the candidate must be a nursing students in California who is a citizen of the United States.
Part of the qualification for this scholarship program as well is that the candidate must have a grade point average of no less than 3.0 and that he or she is required to have finished at least two semesters. The Orange County Community Foundation is the one who provides the award for the Jackson Family Scholarship, and the amount that it offers its recipients is between $500 and $1,000 which can be renewable.
The amount of the award is based on certain factors such as the recipient’s level of financial need, cost of tuition as well as the availability of funding from the program. The number of awards vary as well and depend on the number of eligible applicants aside from the availability of funding. Application for this scholarship program is available from the Orange County Community Foundation website and must be completed online.
Apart from the completed application, Jackson Family Scholarship also requires other documents such as transcript and the Expected Family Contribution as well as the information on the candidate’s parents’ 2010 or 2011 income tax return. An essay with a maximum of 600 words is also required.
