The Islamic Development Bank/ ISNA Scholarship is a type of program wherein the recipient of the award gets to loan money without any interest to fund his or her education. This scholarship grant is open to the graduate students who are Muslims and in order to qualify for this scholarship program, he or she is required to be majoring in any of the following programs such as medicine, agriculture, media, political science, pharmacy, nutrition, dentistry, forestry, fishery, engineering, food technology, economics, social science, nursing, veterinary medicine or medical technology. This scholarship program certainly covers a large scope of field of study which is why it gives a lot of opportunities to more students.
Part of the qualification for the Islamic Development Bank/ ISNA Scholarship is that the candidate must have a grade point average of no less than 3.5 and is awarded by Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). The amount that this program offers its recipients is up to $15,000 which is renewable for a maximum of two years. The loan that this scholarship program lends its recipients need to be repaid after graduation.
The Islamic Development Bank/ ISNA Scholarship selects five recipients each year, and the application for this program may be obtained from the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) website. Aside from the completed application, other documents need to be submitted as well such as an essay that answers the prompt on the application and two letters of recommendation. A copy of the Expected Family Contribution report from the student’s FAFSA profile is also necessary.
