The Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) provides the award for the scholarship program called Helen J. Switzer Nursing Scholarship whose objective is to offer financial support to the students who are in need of financial help so they can sustain their education and finish their degree.
For the students to qualify for the Helen J. Switzer Nursing Scholarship, he or she needs to meet the criteria set by this scholarship program. To be eligible for this scholarship program, the candidate must be an undergraduate student who is a resident of Vermont that comes from the Windham County. Those who are from Rockingham, Westminster, Athens and Grafton are given a priority by this scholarship program.
The Helen J. Switzer Nursing Scholarship is open to the undergraduate students of Vermont who are pursuing a nursing program such as LPN, AS- RN and BSN- RN. The amount that this scholarship program provides its recipients is up to $1,000 which is non- renewable. Only one recipient is chosen every year by Helen J. Switzer Nursing Scholarship.
Application for this scholarship program may be obtained from Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) website, and the application for this program may either be submitted through online or in paper form. The candidate is required to submit a completed VSAC Unified Scholarship application, as well as a letter of recommendation from an authority who can vouch for the candidate’s character. This program also requires the applicant to submit an essay.
