The Gustavus B. Capito Scholarship Fund was established to offer financial support to the students who are citizens of the United States and at the same time are residents of West Virginia. In order to qualify for this scholarship program, the hopeful candidate is required to be majoring in a nursing program in a university or college also within West Virginia.
Among the other qualifications needed for the Gustavus B. Capito Scholarship Fund that the applicant needs to possess so that he or she may be eligible to apply for this scholarship fund is that the candidate needs to have a grade point average of no less than 2.5, and an ACT score of no less than 20.
The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation provides the award for the Gustavus B. Capito Scholarship Fund, and the amount of award that it offers its recipients is worth $2,000. The scholarship award for this program is given every year and is renewable provided that the current recipient reapplies and is able to maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Four recipients are selected by this scholarship program each year.
Students who are eligible to apply for scholarship may access the application through The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation website, and only online submissions will be accepted by the program. The application does not have to be completed all at once that is why the candidate needs to make a password so that he or she can finish the application later on.
Apart from the completed application, a copy of the recent federal income tax return and a transcript or records are also required.
