The Triangle Community Foundation provides the scholarship award for George H. Hitchings New Investigator Award in Health Research whose objective is to offer financial support to the students who are either citizens of the United States or Canada. This scholarship program is open to the students who are in their second year of doctoral program in Veterinary Medicine and must be enrolled at the North Carolina State University (NCSU).
The amount that George H. Hitchings New Investigator Award in Health Research extends to its recipients is worth $5,000 per year and is non- renewable. Only one recipient is chosen by this scholarship program each year. Applications for this scholarship grant must be submitted by the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine on behalf of the candidates.
Candidates are required to strictly follow the instructions for the submission of documents for George H. Hitchings New Investigator Award in Health Research such that the application packet must not have more than the specified number of pages as the application will be rejected. The application packet must contain a typed application form, a copy of the government documentation that residency has been granted as well as a copy of the candidate’s resume that should not have more than three pages. The candidate is also required to submit a research plan that contains the candidate’s proposed budget and must not exceed three pages. Aside from these, the candidate must also provide a letter of recommendation that comes from the primary mentor of the research project.
