The George Devane CRNA Student Scholarship was founded for the graduate students who are citizens of the United States and are following a career in nurse anesthetics. In order to be eligible for this scholarship program, the student must be a resident of Kansas, and another requirement is that the candidate must be presently enrolled in Kansas Nurse Anesthesia program that is certified by the Council on Certification of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
The George Devane CRNA Student Scholarship favors some universities in the state of Kansas such as Newman University and the University of Kansas Medical Center. Also part of the requirement for this scholarship program is that the candidate must have a GPA of not below than 3.0.
The amount that this scholarship award gives out is $1,000 per year which is non- renewable. The George Devane CRNA Student Scholarship chooses one recipient every year. Application for this scholarship program may be accessed online through its website. Apart from the filled up application, the George Devane CRNA Student Scholarship also requires other supporting documents such as the candidate’s official transcript of records, a narrative statement that indicates the candidate’s future role in nursing in the state of Kansas, a letter of acceptance stating the applicant’s admission to the nursing program, letters of recommendation that are highly confidential, such that one letter comes from a faculty advisor, one from an employer and another one which reflects the candidate’s commitment to nursing.
