For students pursuing a nursing degree program in the Sinclair School of Nursing of the University of Missouri, there are plenty of scholarship programs that are open. These scholarships are internal and hence, applying can be accomplished through the Office of Student Affairs of the Sinclair School or Nursing. An example of scholarship is the Gail SelanderDineen Memorial Scholarship. This specific type of scholarship is open for nursing students who are currently enrolled on a full-time basis on any degree programs to the MU’s SSN.
This program was established up in 2003 with the aim of providing assistance to the undergraduate students pursuing a degree program in nursing, enrolled on a full-time basis as a junior or senior. Also, this scholarship is open only for BSN students. This program was created in honor of Mrs. Dineen, who was an alumnus of the nursing program in MU. She passed away unexpectedly in 2003.
In order to apply for this MU scholarship, students must submit their application to the Sinclair School of Nursing Office of Student Affairs. Once the scholarship application is received by the office, they will become eligible for this scholarship as well as to other internal scholarship (there are about 100 internal scholarships and other external ones) in which the applicants meet the eligibility requirements and criteria. It is also necessary for the students to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid/FAFSA on file. Scholarships awardees and amounts they will receive usually vary from year to year.
