The Eileen Hickey Nursing Scholarship was created to offer financial support to the students who are residents of Mid- Hudson Valley. This scholarship program is open to those who are presently taking up a degree in nursing, or even those who are just planning to pursue this field of expertise. Part of the qualification for Eileen Hickey Nursing Scholarship is that the candidate who wishes to take advantage of this great opportunity must be studying at Saint Mary College in Newburgh, New York.
The amount of financial assistance that this scholarship grant extends to its recipients is worth $1,000 which is given every year, but is non- renewable. Only one recipient is selected each year. Students who are residents of Mid- Hudson Valley and are enrolled in a nursing program who hopes to make an application to the Eileen Hickey Nursing Scholarship may obtain the application from the Community Foundation of the Hudson Valley website.
Apart from the completed application, hopeful candidates are required as well to submit other supporting documents such as two letters of recommendation, where one is personal and the other one must be academic and transcript of records. Another document that is needed to be submitted to Eileen Hickey Nursing Scholarship is a copy of the Student Aid Report (SAR) as well as the Expected Family Contribution (EFC) information. Student Aid Report may be obtained after the applicant has filed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
To complete the requirements for application, the candidate must also submit an essay with a minimum of 500 words regarding the topic found in the application.
