The Dr. Hans and Clara Zimmerman Foundation Health Scholarship was created to offer financial support to the college juniors, seniors and graduate students who are residents of Hawaii. Among the qualifications for the Dr. Hans and Clara Zimmerman Foundation Health Scholarship is that the candidate needs to have a grade point average of no less than 3.0, and that he or she must major in a field that is health related, but it does not include sports medicine, non- clinical psychology and social work.
This scholarship program is awarded by the Hawaii Community Foundation and it offers the amount of $3,741 to its recipients. Dr. Hans and Clara Zimmerman Foundation Health Scholarship chooses 190 recipients every year. Although its scholarship award is non- renewable, the recipient is welcome to reapply in the succeeding year.
Potential candidates who wish to take advantage of this scholarship award may access the application through the Hawaii Community Foundation website. Apart from the completed application, a printed confirmation page which can be obtained after making an application online must also be submitted to the Dr. Hans and Clara Zimmerman Foundation Health Scholarship.
Another requirement for this scholarship program is that the candidate must also submit a personal statement that details his or her thoughts on the questions found in the website. The personal statement must be typed and double spaced with a minimum of two pages and a maximum of three pages. Other documents needed are transcript of records, Student Aid Report which can be obtained after submitting a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
