The Hawai’i Community Foundation has successfully established a scholarship grant that is aimed at helping out students who are experiencing financial difficulties as of the moment. The name given to the scholarship is The Dan & Pauline Lutkenhouse & Hawaii Tropical Botanical Garden Scholarship. There are a few requirement s that these applicants must satisfy and fulfill. The first requirement is that the applicant must be taking up a major course in either Nursing, Science, Medicine or Agriculture. The second requirement is that the applicant must be a certified resident of Hamakua Coast, which is geographically located on the northern border of Wailuku River and of Hilo Coast. This scholarship grant is given out on a yearly basis.
