Those attending Colorado College in their freshman year as full time students may apply for the yearly Margaret T. Barnes Scholarships. The scholarship is given out to those who are taking up any natural science course outside of chemistry. This includes neuroscience. The monetary value is different from each year. The deadline for the submission of application is not later than the 15th of January.
Colorado College is the best place to learn about natural sciences and math because they offer personalized teaching practices in a class setting. State of the art equipment are found at both Tutt Science Center and Barnes/Olin Science center. Otis A. and Margaret T. Barnes are offering two endowments for students in the fields mentioned above. The first endowment is to help students in chemistry courses. The second endowment is to help students taking up courses in environmental science, biology, psychology and neuroscience, physics, math and geology. The selection process will be based on merit with strong consideration going also to extracurricular participation and financial incapacity. Applicant must be certified citizens of America and has strong attraction to the fields of science and mathematics. Only one scholarship will be granted per successful applicant.
Application must be submitted not later than the January 15. January 15 must be postmarked on every document submitted and sent to Colorado College Admission office.
An essay of not more than two pages should be submitted and in it states your interest in the sciences and why you chose the particular course. Three recommendation letters from three professors in your high school must be submitted along with the application. Previously sent letters of recommendation may be used by the administration for the application.
