Nursing students taking up their course in neuroscience nursing can apply for the Haley Scholarship of the William F. Connell School of Nursing in Boston College. The scholarship covers six scholastic credits for each year and can be renewed for up to three years only when the student passes nine credits during the year. Nursing students at the Masters’ and Doctorate level are allowed to apply for this scholarship too. This goes for those incoming freshmen as well. The deadline for the submission for the application forms is the 13th of March every year. This has to be submitted with the following supporting documents; original transcript of grades and an essay stating financial need. All these should be submitted to the graduate office. The Haley Scholarship was founded by Husband and wife Steven Russell Haley and Kathleen Powers Haley to which they give out funds to Women’s and Brigham nurses so they could attend the William F. Connell Nursing School to help them get ready for more nursing care applications.
The scholarship covers six credits and the student has to pass at least nine credit units for the year.
The nurses of the Women’s and Brigham Hospitals will be given priority. These hospitals’ recognized hospitals will be given the same privilege. The selection will also depend on nursing practice and the interest to study neuroscience nursing care.
Applications are extended to those taking up their Masters’, Doctorate, Registered Nurses of other areas of nursing who are interested in getting in the Registered Nursing / Masters Degree in neuroscience.
Applicants are required to compose an essay that contains personal and professional information, relating current nursing application to neuroscience nursing, why applicant chose the neuroscience course and the applicants’ future plans with regards to neuroscience nursing care.
