The Blouin Nursing Scholarship is a type of loan that is repayable when the recipient completes his or her obligation to work for Rumford Hospital or the Rumford Community Home. The Blouin Nursing Scholarship was founded to offer financial help to the undergraduate students who are taking up nursing, registered respiratory therapy, allied health professions, physical therapy, pharmacy or ultrasound professions.
In order to be eligible for the Blouin Nursing Scholarship, the candidate needs to be a resident of the area of Rumford Hospital (Maine). Part of the requirement of this scholarship grant is that the recipient must agree to work after graduation for this program. Should the recipient choose to fulfill his obligation at the Rumford Hospital, then he or she is required to work for 1 year. If however, the recipient selects to work at the Rumford Community Home, then he or she is only required to work for 6 months so that his or her loan will be forgiven.
The Blouin Nursing Scholarship offer the amount of $1,250 worth of financial assistance. This award is given every year and is also renewable up to 3 years. There is no definite number as to how many awards are given each year, but in other years, this scholarship grant selected 4 recipients.
