There are nursing scholarships that are being offered by the Birmingham Black Nurses Association, Inc. All information can be gathered at the BBNA website. These scholarships are named the BBNA, the Brenda J. Phillips Hong, Kim Rutley-Campbell Nursing Leadership and the Dr. Martha A. Dawson Scholarship.
The association is focused on the development of the individual and expert development of the nurses who are currently in nursing school with the implementation of their teaching courses and their scholarship grants. These teaching courses implement practices that facilitate the professional advancement of skills of nurses in school and prepare them for their future in nursing care. There are requirements that need to be fulfilled. One is that the nursing student must be enrolled in pre-license nursing course. The second is that the student must be enrolled in a nursing school in the state of Alabama. Awardings are given every November.
