The Oregon Student Assistance Commission has successfully established a scholarship program for those taking up a course in the field of nursing. It is designed to help those nursing students who are experiencing financial difficulties. The name of the scholarship fund is The Bertha P. Singer Nurses Scholarship. The scholarship grant is given out to successful applicants on a yearly basis.
But before an applicant gets successfully chosen for the grant, he or she must satisfy some requirement set by the commission. First of these requirements is that the student must be studying in a nursing school in the State of Oregon. Second is that he or she must have a Grade Point Average of at least 3.0. The third requirement that an applicant must fulfill is that he or she must be in his or her sophomore year of nursing. Documented evidence must be submitted to support this. Fourth is that he or she must be a resident of Oregon.
It has been strictly applied that employees of American Banks, their dependents and close degree relatives are not allowed to apply.
The grant amounts to one-thousand U.S. dollars.
The deadline is on the 1st of March.
