The Bernice Pickens Parsons Scholarship Fund was specifically founded to offer financial support to the students who are citizens of the United States and are residents of West Virginia. Part of the qualification for this scholarship program is that the potential candidate must intend to get a degree in education, or must be training in any of the following fields such as library science, nursing, or para- professional training in the legal field.
This scholarship program requires its applicants to possess a GPA of no less than 2.5 and an ACT score of 20 or higher. Bernice Pickens Parsons Scholarship Fund is awarded by the Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation, and the amount that this scholarship grant provides is worth $1,000. This award is given every year and is renewable provided that the recipient reapplies, and that he or she must be able to maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
Bernice Pickens Parsons Scholarship Fund selects up to 5 recipients per year, and those who are interested to apply may get the application on The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation website. For this program, only online submissions will be accepted. It also does not require the applicant to immediately complete the application, but rather it advises the applicant to create a password so that he or she may be able to complete the application later on.
Aside from this, it also requires other documents such as federal income tax return and transcript of records which are to be scanned and attached to the application. Other requirements may be viewed at www.tgkvf.org/scholar.tm.
