The Greater Kanawha Valley Foundation has successfully established a scholarship fund that is aimed to help students who are in financial need. They have named the scholarship grant The Bernice Pickens Parsons Fund. This scholarship fund is designed to aid students who are in financial crisis but are currently in pursuit of their education regarding the any of the following fields; Nursing, Legal field professional training, and documentation science.
The amount involved and available for the students taking that is awarded the grant sums up to one-thousand U.S. dollars. For the applicant to be successfully awarded and granted the fund, he or she must be a resident of the State of West Virginia. He or she must have attained a Grade Point Average of least 2.0. Preference to those who reside in Jackson County is given but is not exclusive.
