The Ocean Medical Center Foundation family of funds was able to put up a scholarship grant aimed at helping current Ocean Medical Center nursing staff members and students working on their various degrees in nursing. The scholarship grant is named The Barbara Forfar Nursing Scholarship Fund. The scholarship fund was established on the 15th of January in the year 2011. The scholarship grant is named after Barbara Forfar who was a resident of Point Pleasant for the longest time. She went by the nickname Foof. She spent forty-four years practicing her nursing care skills and in forty-one of those, she was employed at the Ocean Medical Center and other Ocean county hospitals that preceded it.
There are a number of requirements that the applicants must fulfill. First of all is that the applicant must be a practicing nurse in the hospital, or is an enrolled nursing student for an RN degree, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree, a Masteral Degree or a Doctorate Degree in the same hospital.
There is no ethnic or gender requirement for applicants. The deadline for application is on the middle of July.
