The Sinclair School of Nursing of the University of Missouri has put up a scholarship fund aimed at helping nurses in enhancing their education. The scholarship grant is named The Arlene L. and Cynthia M. Grueber Nursing Advancement Scholarship Fund.
Cynthia M. Grueber was the former Director for Children’s and University Hospitals. She has been funding this grant as a tribute to Arlene L. Grueber, her mother, who has an undying love for the nursing profession. Arlene was a Registered Nurse in the State of Michigan. Daughter Cynthia on the other hand has been a strong backer of the nursing profession and has been credited with the strong relations between the Hospital in the University and the University’s nursing program.
There are requirements that must be satisfied. First is that applicants must be a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurse in the process of taking up their Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing. Registered Nurses can also use the grant in procuring a higher level of nursing education.
The amount for the grant varies and depends on the level of the applicant. The program has a period of one year.
