The South Carolina Nurses Association has successfully established a scholarship program for nursing students. The scholarship program is formally called the Appalachian District Nurses Student Scholarship. This scholarship curriculum is specifically aimed at helping those nursing students taking up either an undergraduate course, a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or a higher level degree course in nursing. Those students who are interested in applying for the Appalachian District Nurses Student Scholarship program must be enrolled in any of the schools within the four counties of the Appalachian region. The counties included are Anderson county, Pickens county, Oconee county and Greenville county. Aside from these, another requirement that an applicant must be able to satisfy is that he or she must be a resident of the State of South Carolina.
The amount of the grant varies from one school to another. The same goes with the tenure and period of time for the program.
