The Association of periOperative Registered Nursesfounded AORN Foundation Student Nurse Scholarship for the US citizens who are students in both the undergraduate and graduate level and are pursuing a degree in nursing. Potential candidates are required to be presently enrolled in a program that will lead them to eventually become licensed Registered Nurses.
The AORN Foundation Student Nurse Scholarship provides the amount of $500 up to $2,500 worth of financial assistance to its most deserving recipients. The monetary award will be sent thru the recipient’s mailing address and is also made payable to the recipient. This scholarship program then requires its recipients to send their grades as well as the invoices for their expenses on tuition, other school related fees and textbooks not later than August 1.
The funding of this scholarship program includes courses beginning on or after July 1 and also on or before June 1, but for those who are graduating in December, payments are made earlier. For the early payments, invoices are required to be submitted by February 1. The number of awards given every year varies, but as far as last year is concerned, there were 54 awards that were shared.
The application for AORN Foundation Student Nurse Scholarship can be accessed in the program’s website. Apart from the application, the candidate is also required to submit other supporting requirements such as an essay that contains a maximum of 500 words that talks about the topics found in the application.
The application together with the essay and other supporting documents must be submitted before the deadline.
