The organization named Georgia Nurses Foundation has established a scholarship program that is aimed to financially help those residents of the state of Georgia who are interested in taking up a degree or course in nursing. The Annie Lou Overton Scholarship is designed to prioritize those nurses who intend to work within the State of Georgia after taking their Bachelor of Science in Nursing. They also must be fulltime students.
The scholarship was named after Annie Lou Overton who held the position of Executive Director for the Georgia Nurses Association. She sat as the head of the association for good number of years. The scholarship program has successfully instilled through the Georgia Nurses Association all of Overton’s legacy. The scholarships helps those students who are in financial difficulty achieve their goal of becoming nurses some day.
