The Sinclair School of Nursing found at the University of Missouri has established a scholarship program that is aimed to aid nursing students who are in need of financial assistance. The scholarship program is called the Annette McClanahan Harrison Endowed Nursing Scholarship. Thos who want to apply for this program must be currently enlisted in an undergraduate program. Residents of Missouri will given primary option.
The program was founded by Edward J. Carter and he named it after his aunt, the late Annette McClanahan.
Ms. McClanahan was a Kentucky based nurse who wished that she practiced her profession more. But instead of doing what she loved best, she focused her attention on bringing up the young Carter. Putting up a scholarship fund under his aunts’ name is his way of repaying her and the nursing profession as well.
The amount of the grant and the tenure and time frame for the program varies.
