Scholarships are created with the intention of helping deserving students to move through his/her college years. The assistance will be a big help for the recipient in terms of studying since he/she will not have to worry about money for the entire duration of the scholarship.
If you are looking for a scholarship that will help you in your nursing degree, consider applying to the American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Arizona Past President’s Parley Scholarship Assistance in Health Care Occupations. However, to avail this scholarship, you must be residing in the state of Arizona for a minimum of one year. The amount of scholarship is slated at $500 per annum and is awarded to student who is not less than his/her second year and pursuing nurse degree program, enrolled on full-time basis in an accredited institution within the State. There is higher preference given to immediate family members of a veteran.
All application documents for this scholarship must be submitted to American Legion Auxiliary Department of Arizona Past Presidents’ Parley Chairman on or before the deadline, which is set to be one the 15th of May, which will precede the fall semester. The award will be given at the start of the school year to the college/learning institution where the recipient is enrolled on full-time basis in the nursing program.
The application form must be accompanied by recent photograph of the applicant, statement of purpose/essay with not more than 500 words, three letters of references/recommendations and grades from the previous year in nursing program. The basis of awarding will be 30% on financial need, 25% for both scholarship and character and 20% for the initiative.
